Why all these poems?

I just wanted to add a quick post to maybe explain why I have just put all these poems up. Am I one of those romantics, who's always thinking and writing stuff like this, instead of doing what he's supposed to be doing? Well yes.

Or, is it because, Kavi means Poet in English. That could be why.
(On that note, did I start writing poems because my name is Kavi...or is my name Kavi because I would write poems?)

Either way, most of these were written:
a) on the school bus (yes I was that bored..I even memorized A-Z backwards and can now recite it extremely fast! (yes I like to brag))
b) in a boring but not "fall-asleep" boring class in high school
c) or just at home, for fun

So yea, read them, and please comment (I know most of them suck, just not in which way or which parts)!

And now, no more posts on poems...crazy thoughts, well that's another topic.

And for the last time....more poems

Sound of Time

The sound of time,
As sweet as lime
One that drops
And doesn’t stop

Nice like ice
A game of dice
The bells that ring,
And more than sing

The candle’s wink
Tick – it sinks
So soft and slow
Like a flood’s flow.

So fast and real
Like cold hard steel,
Boiling hot,
Yet ever, not

Fast but last
Slow, no more
Forevermore,

Tick

Tick

Tick

Dead as a brick.

What lays ahead me

What lays ahead me,
Is yet to be known,
What lays ahead me,
Shall come in due time,
What lays ahead me,
Will soon be behind me.

Isn't that last one really deep? Heh (Actually, both of them :)

Some Poems (random)

Pay

How come they say,
everyone must pay.
Yet there are those,
Who always come close,
but pay never they.
Is it okay??
For some to pay,
but others to say,
"Sorry, not today"
And thus, get away?

WYSIWYG

What you see is what you get,
WYSIWYG, some may say.
But do you really, every day?
Get, what you see,
or what you think you just may.

Be and lose

“As one should be, as one should do;
the world shall pay and shall lose”

Change?

As the sun has risen,
The world had moved.
Since yesterday, and yesteryear,
As it will tomorrow and the next year.

How hardly you seem to know me.
There the wind does flow.
Capable of such actions,
Did you really not know?

The sun arose,
The light altered,
The wind grew,
As the earth softened.

Change it was,
Change there was,

From yesterday to yesteryear,
To Today, to the next year.

Eternal Life, Never

How far the sun hath shine,
How loud the river cries,
How fast the light doeth travel,
How soon the day must end.
How true the words do lie,
How real the poetry sounds,
How passionate the love is abound,
How quick that it comes to this.
Words immortal they lie,
Truths forever they tell,
Words always they speak,
Fire always does burn.
Life always does end.

Education is in disarray

Education is in disarray
Nothing more is left to say:
No, lets not question why,
Let’s not even try,

The high men make the rules,
We just follow them like fools.

Why stop now?

Herds of sheep, cattle or moose, (- call them what you may.)
Always been, always on cruise,
Followers, be it good or evil,
Rules and rules, may law be cruel.

Simply, safely, veering off,
Forward, forward, don’t stop; not now.

Schedules, systems, all human creations,
Appraised, and held, like nature’s word.
Appear safe in the present,
Danger, danger in the future.

Always been on this same path,
Science, English, history and math.
Achieved so much, so great in all,
Rising faster, no chance to fall.

Simply said - Why stop now?

Reasons, science needs a lot,
Words and wisdom may be wrong,
But data, figures, research not.

Progress, progress, always forward,
Never stopping, to think and ponder.
Quicker, better, and even greater,
Accomplishments, we are proud of later,

Why now?
- If not now, then when?

Change our course, with small hops.
Let’s stop now, at progress’s cost
Before all happiness is forever lost.

This isn't entirely a good portrayal of my thoughts...the words/meanings have been twisted to fit the rhyming scheme...instead it should be the other way round (aka, it sucks). However, I had fun writing it for some reason... I liked the repetition of words (forward, forward; progress, progress; danger, danger; rules and rules). I'm such a child ;P

A few poems and thoughts

Randomness at its best.........

How come there are times

How come there are times.
Happy, pleasant, prosperous;
Sad, unhappy, treacherous.

How come one changes,
to the cycles of life,
and a moment of trife.

How come we can't just stay,
happy, pleasant, prosperous
forever, simply free of fuss.

Organized Life

Have you ever stopped to wonder,
to take this thought and ponder.
How much life has changed,
how much life has made.

Everything has been organized,
into a constant schedule.
Anything random rarely happens,
anything new barely happens.

Schools are organized, and so is one's education.
Jobs are organized, and so is one's survival,
Security is organized and no more fears,
Everything is organized, everything dear.

Everyone is Special

Millions and Millions there are,
Some so complex some so far.
Some think the complex the better,
Others think the better the complex the lesser,
But it is my opinion shared with many others
That everyone is special in their own unique vessel.

I see such a sight

I see such a sight,
Better than a shining star,
In all its might,
Fighting the tide,
Pronouncing the light,
And when at its full height,
In the moonlight night,
I see such a sight.

Conflict

Some write for themselves,
others for others opinions.

I wish to write for myself,
and always have wanted to.

But so is my mind,
that conflicts with my heart,
that it usually wins,
the greater card.

Even though I don't want it to,
I can't stop it,
and here I am again repeating this,
as you are there reading this.

Inability to Change

There comes a time
When you know it, yet you ignore it.
There comes a time,
When you just can't change.
When you think of it as a crime,
To change your old ways,
There comes a time,
When you know what you have to do...

Yet you don't.

Nature at its best

Flowers are beautiful aren’t they?
It's nature’s art and its way
So are the heavens and the blue skies
Which makes one think as it cries

As the sun sets and as it rises
Those and old vague surprises
Soon become very dull and dreary,
As one does them half-merry

The earth and waters are so fiery,
To even propose a new theory,
How they blend and shine altogether,
Like a gray-white trivial feather.

While water with its calm blueness,
Recites calm thoughts? Would be my guess.

Renown water is for its disguises
The oceans, lakes and of other sizes.

Beautiful earth is, with its art,
Displayed naturally without part
By man, society, or others
Blindly blending with its brothers.

Not to forget the shade as the sun dies,
True beauty reflected in those two-eyes

Can one compare to a ball such as that?
Bright, fiery; beautifully fat
With the range from golden crimson,
Blue to red, such tones of the sun.

Flowers are beautiful aren’t they?
It truly is nature’s art; its way

So why not enjoy such nature,
Wildlife, earth, sun, air and water,
Flowers, forests; nature at its best

This is all; I will save the rest,
Good enough reason, for me it is,
To live life and value nature.

Education != College

When I say I "hate" or "dislike" college, many immediately assume I'm just, "one of those kids" that doesn't see the value of what he has. I admit I have been extremely fortunate being brought up the way I have been. But that is no reason for me to not say what I believe.

I think knowledge and wisdom is extremely important. Learning is just wonderful. It is a passage of knowledge from generation to generation. But it doesn't change the fact that I dislike college.

To be honest I could come up with many reasons why college isn't the ONLY way for people to be successful (success is a very opinionated word. To me it is leading a life achieving something of worthwhile importance to myself, making a difference, while having fun and exploring/learning life's great aspects.) You can teach yourself.

Guess what. Many colleges are putting many of their class lectures/materials online for free. Can't people learn through textbooks, class notes, and the wide array of resources available online? I am not arguing for all majors. I am just talking about non-technical major, for me this is management and marketing. To be truthful, I see business as more of a real-life learning thing. Even Grad schools and MBA programs seem to agree, as most of them require real job experience.

I am mainly in college right now to learn. I don't care a bit about my grade in so-and-so class, or how I do in exams. And to be truthful its hard - to stop caring. When I say I don't care about the grade, I don't mean I don't care about college. I just think that right now, I would rather really LEARN and UNDERSTAND something, than cram or "study" right before an exam to get an A.

In the end, the question is. Are you willing to pay $200 to get an A in a class- exempting you from all homework, studying and attendance?

Dumb stuff. Pay some, pay some more. Keep paying.

Note: This was hastily and badly written, so expect a revision...sometime soon. It's too late now. G'nite.
